Whitbread Off-Road has over 20 years experience in kitting out Challenge, Comp Safari and Land Rover vehicles for off-road competitions and races. Their space frames, rock sliders, roll cages and other custom\u00a0fabrications\u00a0have gained them a loyal following throughout the UK and abroad. \u00a0After seeing the benefit in taking more of their metal fabrication in-house, they bought their Swift-Cut 1250 in May of 2013 and, within the space of a year, the Whitbread team has gone from having minimal operational understanding of plasma cutting tables to declaring that the machine is the best purchase they\u2019ve ever made for their workshop.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s owner, Malcolm, is very pleased with his machine.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Like many of our customers, their machine has allowed them to seriously cut down on their turn-around time as their in-house team can quickly create pieces using the machine\u2019s CAD software. \u00a0With the ability to store images in the machine\u2019s computer system and cut them as and when they\u2019re needed, their production method is flexible and\u00a0efficient\u00a0 \u00a0Plus, they\u2019re wasting less as they\u2019re able to use scrap metal to make brackets and other pieces from left-over metal that would otherwise be discarded, allowing them to save resources, time, and money.<\/p>\n

Quality is important to\u00a0Malcolm and his team. \u00a0They\u2019re known for producing great work for their customers and\u00a0similarly\u00a0seek excellence in the tools they\u2019re using. \u00a0\u201cThe quality of the cut is there\u201d Malcolm comments, when\u00a0talking\u00a0about his Swift-Cut machine. \u00a0\u201cWe didn\u2019t buy on price, we bought on quality,\u201d he says, as he\u00a0describes\u00a0how they compared the Swift-Cut machine to others at the MECH show two years ago.<\/p>\n

Any regrets? \u00a0\u201cThe boys say the metal is a little heavy to get on the table,\u201d Malcolm jokes, but other than that the table\u2019s great. \u00a0And it shows in the quality of the work Whitbread creates!<\/p>\n
