Swift-Cut Photo Competition Terms and Conditions
By submitting an entry electronically, you agree to and accept the following Terms and Conditions.
This competition is administered by Swift-Cut.
- Entrants may only enter the competition online by submitting their entries (“entry”) in accordance with the instructions set out on the competition website. There are no monetary costs to enter the competition.
- The closing date for entries is indicated in the relevant competition call.
- The competition is open to participants globally unless otherwise stated in the competition details.
- All entrants must be over 18 years of age.
- Proof of age and identity may be required from all winners.
- Employees of Swift-Cut and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the competition.
- Entries must be submitted through methods outlined in the competition rules.
- The submitted entry must be the original work of the individual or team submitting it. Entrants are responsible for ensuring that they have obtained all necessary permissions from any individuals or venues appearing in their photographs and that their work does not infringe any copyright or intellectual property rights. Entrants shall be liable for any claims resulting from infringement.
- If photographs feature people, entrants must obtain consent from those pictured (or from parents/guardians if the subjects are under 18). A consent form may be required.
- Image Manipulation Rules: Entries must be single-frame photographs with no additions, removals, or distortions of content. Basic edits such as light cropping, colour adjustments, and grayscale conversion are permitted, provided they do not significantly alter the original image. AI-generated or manipulated images are not allowed. Swift-Cut reserves the right to request original, unedited image files (e.g., RAW, unaltered JPEGs, and EXIF data). Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
- Entrants retain the copyright to their submitted materials. However, by entering, entrants grant Swift-Cut a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use submitted materials for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to publication on Swift-Cut’s website, social media, and promotional materials. Credit will be given to the photographer where feasible.
- Entrants must ensure that their submissions do not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws. Swift-Cut is not liable for any legal issues arising from submitted entries.
- Swift-Cut reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions or does not meet technical, artistic, or legal requirements.
- Participation in the competition does not obligate Swift-Cut to use or distribute any submission.
- Winners will be selected based on the competition criteria outlined on the competition website. Swift-Cut’s decision is final.
- Winners will be announced following the close of the submission period, as indicated in the competition call.
- A list of winning entries will be available on the Swift-Cut website for a minimum of three months. By entering, participants agree that their names may be disclosed if they win.
- The prizes are as stated on the competition website and are non-transferable.
- Winners will be notified by email after the selection process.
- Swift-Cut will attempt to contact winners for up to one (1) month following the announcement. If a winner cannot be reached within this period, Swift-Cut reserves the right to reallocate the prize.
- Swift-Cut’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding results.
- If Swift-Cut determines that a winner has violated these Terms and Conditions, an alternative winner may be selected.
- Swift-Cut is not responsible for lost, delayed, or misdirected entries due to technical issues.
- Incomplete or illegible entries will be disqualified. Swift-Cut is not responsible for technical issues preventing entry submissions.
- Prizes/vouchers are non-exchangeable and non-transferable. If circumstances prevent the provision of a stated prize, Swift-Cut reserves the right to offer an alternative of equal value.
- Swift-Cut shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the competition or use of prizes, except in cases of gross negligence.
- Swift-Cut is not responsible for delays, cancellations, or other disruptions caused by circumstances beyond its control.
- Personal information collected from entrants will be used solely for the administration of the competition and in accordance with Swift-Cut’s privacy policy. Entrants’ information will not be shared with third parties, except as required to fulfil the competition and deliver prizes.
- Swift-Cut reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Country/Region of Swift-Cut’s jurisdiction], and disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
