Product: Swift-Cut 1250 with Water Table
Yarm School, based in the pretty North Yorkshire market town of Yarm is a forward-thinking, public school with a vibrant Design & Technology department that each year turns out over 100 GCSE and A’level candidates, all with top grades. From ball gowns to electronic violins and from contemporary music stands to electronic monitoring devices, the range is impressive.
In February, the school acquired a Swift-Cut CNC Plasma Cutting Table. In the short time it has been in the department students have created projects incorporating decorative insert panels that look exquisite in brass. Adjustable engine mounts for a motorised scooter, sprocket inserts for their Greenpower electric endurance vehicle and even cut-outs of rodents have been quickly and easily produced. Staff, students and parents have been amazed and delighted with the quality of the pieces that come off the machine and with what has been achieved in such a short period of time.
When we talked to Mr. Dunn, we were impressed by the scope of work that his students created and with the table in their workroom. We’re excited to see what they’re going to come up with next year.
